HAIR TRANSPLANTATION
WHAT ARE THE METHODS OF HAIR TRANSPLANTATION AVAILABLE?
There are 2 main methods of hair transplantation available:
FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) is a technique where linear strips of hair follicles are removed from the back of the scalp and then placed in circular incisions at the front. These strips will leave small linear scars that can be visible if you wear your hair short.
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) is a minimally invasive hair restoration technique and has gained popularity over FUT (Follicular Unit Transplant) over the years. Using a specialised punch to make small circular incisions to extract *follicular unit grafts individually does minimal trauma to the *donor area. With no stitches or linear scars formed at the donor area, the healing process takes only a few days.
* Follicular unit grafts: a bunch of a small number of hair follicles
* Donor area: genetically stronger areas of the scalp where follicular unit grafts will be extracted for a hair transplant procedure
WHY CHOOSE FUE OVER FUT?
The advantages of FUE compared to FUT –
- NO Scalpels, NO Staples, NO Sutures.
- NO Linear Scars in the back of the head or temples.
- Minimally invasive.
- Natural looking hairlines.
- Dense packing.
- Flexibility in hairstyles.
- Obtaining more grafts in a single session.
- Faster Healing process

Understanding Hair Transplantation
The Key To Treatment
WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF FUE LIKE?
Hair Loss Consultation
Prior to a consultation with one of our qualified physicians, patients will have to fill up a medical history form that will help the attending physician to understand & find out the root cause of the patient’s hair loss issue.
Moving forward, the patient’s desired results will be discussed with the physician. A customized treatment plan for the patient will be proposed.
Preparation
Patients will be advised 1 week & 1 day before by the hair transplant team on how to prepare yourself & your body for the procedure day. On the actual procedure day, patients will meet with the physician to do the final confirmation which includes the drawing of the hairline & areas to be restored (also known as the “recipient” areas).
The donor area will be shaved to number 0.5 by one of the hair technicians. Patients will also be served pre-operative medications (such as anti-inflammatory medications & antibiotics) by the team’s nurse.
Local Anesthesia and Extraction of hair follicles
The next step in the hair transplant procedure is the extraction of the donor’s hair. This is a key step that distinguishes the revolutionary Follicular unit hair transplant procedure from the out-dated FUSS hair transplant.
Preparation the Recipient Site
After all the grafts have been harvested from the donor area, preparation of the recipient sites – that is, the areas that will be receiving the new hair. The physician prepares each graft site by making tiny incisions where the follicular units will be inserted with a follicular unit hair transplant.
We take great pride in ensuring each donor follicle is perfectly placed, bringing together a complete unit of natural flowing hair. The strategic positioning of hair to match each patient’s individual, the natural growth pattern is a key factor in achieving a truly undetectable result of FUE hair transplant.
Placement of the Grafts
Once the recipient sites are complete, it’s time to place the grafts. Under the direct supervision of the physician, the hair technicians begin placing each graft, one by one, into the donor sites.
