Titanium Lifting vs Time Freeze Laser

Shared wavelengths, different lasers

Titanium lifting warms the dermis with a diode laser at three wavelengths. Time Freeze Laser LCLR® heats several depths of the dermis and adds a Sculpting mode for fat and filler. Titanium lifting is not offered here.

In Brief

Titanium lifting and Time Freeze Laser LCLR® have two wavelengths in common, but they are not the same laser. Titanium lifting moves a three-wavelength diode laser over the skin to warm the dermis. Time Freeze is Dr Sin Yong's long-pulsed 755 nm and 1064 nm protocol, with a Sculpting mode. This clinic does not offer titanium lifting.

What the Research Shows: Titanium Lifting vs Time Freeze

  • A preliminary uncontrolled study of 28 women had five sessions of a combined 755, 810 and 1064 nm laser, and dermatologists rated 86% as improved by more than 25%. The record does not name the device, and it gives no laxity or wrinkle scores. It had no control group. [1]
  • A randomised split-face study of 20 Korean subjects measured a 45.1% fall in mean wrinkle grade on the treated side, four weeks after three sessions of long-pulsed 1064 nm laser. [2]
  • We found no published trial that compares titanium lifting with Time Freeze Laser LCLR®, and no study that used long-pulsed 755 nm and 1064 nm together for skin tightening. No published trial has tested Time Freeze Laser LCLR® as a named protocol. We also found no published study of an external long-pulsed 1064 nm laser reducing facial fat, or of long-pulsed 1064 nm laser on nodules from PCL, PLLA, CaHA or PDLLA.

About This Comparison

Alike on paper, different in practice

On paper the two look alike, because 755 nm and 1064 nm appear on both. They are not the same laser. A titanium device is a diode platform, it adds 810 nm, and all three wavelengths come from diode sources. Despite the name, nothing made of titanium touches the skin or stays in it. Titanium is the model name.

Time Freeze Laser LCLR® uses long-pulsed alexandrite and Nd:YAG sources on a Lutronic platform. Dr Sin Yong uses the two wavelengths together, because they are absorbed differently, and aims energy at the upper, middle and lower dermis in one visit.

Numbers on a brochure say little by themselves. How long each pulse lasts, how much energy it carries, how the heat is laid down and the plan around it all shape what reaches the tissue.

“A shared wavelength does not make a shared treatment. I look for where the laxity sits and whether there is excess to take away, and then choose the laser.”

Dr Sin Yong

One warms the dermis, the other adds a Sculpting mode

A titanium session is a dermal treatment. The handpiece keeps moving, so the skin warms gradually. That is a reasonable match for early loss of firmness and fine crepe-like lines, both of which sit in the dermis.

Time Freeze heats the dermis too, at several depths. Its Sculpting mode is directed at sagged fat along the jowl, beside the nasolabial fold and under the chin, and at settled filler once it has been mapped. So the useful question is which layer has loosened, and whether sagged fat or settled filler is part of the problem. See Time Freeze Laser LCLR®.

What each one cannot do

Titanium lifting cannot

Get down to the SMAS, shift a fat pad that has descended, or put back lost volume.

Time Freeze cannot

Get down to the SMAS, put back lost volume, take away loose skin or dissolve filler. It also has to wait in pregnancy, if skin is freshly tanned, sunburnt, infected or inflamed, or after a recent course of oral acne medication.

Neither can

Take away heavy skin, relax neck bands or raise a lid that sits low because of a weak muscle.

If you came looking for titanium lifting

If you ask for titanium lifting, Dr Sin Yong treats that as a question about lifting in general. He watches your face at rest and while you talk, feels how much skin and fat there is in each zone, and scans for earlier filler if he suspects it. He then asks which layer has loosened, whether each zone has fat to spare, and whether anything is weighing the face down.

If you have had titanium lifting before, tell him which device, when, and what you noticed. Recent heat in the skin affects when the next treatment can happen and how it is set.

Risks at a glance

Both

Both heat the skin, so in Asian skin the main things to plan around are redness, blisters if energy runs too high, and darkening after inflammation.

Time Freeze

Tenderness where fat or filler was targeted. Less often, small crusts or temporary darkening. Rare risks are a burn, a blister, lightening, scarring and losing more fat in a zone than planned.

Frequently Asked Questions

Titanium lifting moves a diode laser, emitting 755, 810 and 1064 nm, over the face to warm the dermis. Time Freeze Laser LCLR® is Dr Sin Yong's own long-pulsed 755 nm and 1064 nm protocol. It heats several depths of the dermis and adds a Sculpting mode for fat and filler.
No, this clinic does not offer it. If you ask for it, Dr Sin Yong treats that as a wider question about lifting. He examines which layer has loosened and whether anything is weighing your face down, then explains what he would use and why.
No. Titanium is the model name of the device, and nothing made of titanium touches the skin or stays in it. It is a diode laser platform that is widely used for hair removal, and it has also been used to warm facial skin.
No. Wavelength is only one setting. Pulse length, energy, how heat is laid down and the plan around it all shape what reaches the tissue. Two lasers can share numbers on paper and still behave differently in skin.
No. Titanium lifting works in the skin, and Time Freeze works in the skin and superficial fat. If the fault lies at the SMAS in a face of normal fullness, focused ultrasound such as Ultherapy or HIFU may have a role.
Neither is planned for a lean zone, so Dr Sin Yong uses the VF Lift for lean or hollow faces. Time Freeze is mainly for areas that are puffy or heavy.
Often, yes, once you have been examined. Tell Dr Sin Yong which device was used, when, and what you noticed. Recent heat in the skin affects when the next treatment can happen and how it is set.
